Where are you located?

9 Barclay Drive, Casuarina NSW which is 15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and 30 minutes north of Byron Bay.

What levels do you cater for?

School Holiday Camps cater for a wide variety of ability levels - from surfers who have just started trimming down the line, through to surfers performing committed manoeuvres.

Our main requirement is that surfers can paddle out the back and catch waves without any assistance from a coach in the water. This allows the coaches to get footage which can then be reviewed during video analysis sessions.

If your son or daughter is still in the whitewater and riding foam boards, this will not be suitable for them.

What ages can attend?

School Holiday Camps are suitable for 12-16 year old surfers but we also offer Micro Grom Camps for surfers aged 12 years and under.

Where do surfing sessions run?

Our coaches always try to find the most suitable waves for coaching on the Tweed Coast which has plenty of options for different wind and swell directions.

Sessions generally run at Casuarina, Cabarita, Kingscliff or Hastings Point but we can also access Duranbah, Snapper Rocks and Kirra.

What happens if there's no surf?

If we're not confident that conditions will allow us to get coaching outcomes, you will receive a full credit to reschedule for another camp within the next 12 months.

Do surfers need to bring a board?

Yes, we strongly recommend surfers bring their own surfboard as we cannot guarantee that we will have a suitable option in our demo quiver.

What is the coach to surfer ratio?

We have a 1:6 ratio to ensure surfers get plenty of time with their coach.

What qualifications do your coaches have?

All of our coaches are Surfing Australia Accredited Surf Coaches and hold a current ocean rescue award, first aid certificate and Working With Children Check.

Can surfers stay overnight and what do they do?

Our overnight camp package is available as an optional extra on our 5 Day School Holiday Camps. It includes supervised accommodation for each night of the camp and all meals.

At the end of each coaching day, our coaches hand surfers over to our overnight chaperone who supervises the group until the following morning.

Evening activities include ping pong, basketball, dodgeball, board games and movie night.

When do surfers arrive and what flights should we book?

Check-in is available from 4:00pm the day before the camp so surfers can get settled and ready for an early start the following morning.

The camp will finish at 3:00pm on the last day so flights from 4:30pm onwards are recommended but earlier departures can be arranged if required.

Do you offer airport transfers?

Yes, airport transfers are available for surfers aged 12 and up who have included the overnight camp package in their booking. Our drivers meet surfers at baggage collection with a sign.

We already have accommodation, can my grom just do coaching?

Yes, you can just drop them off and pick them up at the end of each day.

Do you provide meals and can you cater for dietary requirements?

Lunch is included on all camps and we cater for any dietary requirements. If you have included the overnight camp package in your booking, all meals are included from dinner on arrival to lunch on the last day.
